The committee of Rajshahi University unit of the Bangladesh Chhatra League, associate student body of the ruling Awami League, was formed Saturday night.
The BCL central committee in Dhaka selected Ahmed Hossain of public administration department as president and Abu Hossain Bipu of mass communication and journalism as secretary general of the committee for 2011-12, said a press release.
Ilias Hossain and Jakir Hossain Roni were selected vice-presidents while Fuad Hossain Murad was selected joint secretary.
Meanwhile, leaders and activists, led by the new committee's vice-president Illias Hossain and joint secretary Fuad Hasan Murad, brought out a procession on the university campus on Sunday, welcoming the new committee.
Earlier, the university unit committee of the organisation was suspended on August 8, 2010 following a factional clash on the campus that left 30 BCL activists injured
