The Appellate Division (AD) of the
Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld an order passed by the High Court, asking
Concord Group to handover an 18-storey complex in capital’s Azimpur to Sir
Salimullah Muslim Orphanage.
Appellate Division Chamber Judge,
Justice Md Imman Ali refrained from passing any order on the appeal filed by
the developer company, leaving the High Court order in effect.
After this order, the developer company
has to handover the concerned land and the building to the orphanage authority
within 30 days.
Earlier
on September 17, the High Court declared the construction of the building on
the land of the orphanage illegal and asked the developer company to handover
the building to the land owner within 30 days of getting the copy of the
verdict. (Source: BSS, September 22, 2015)
