The driver of the truck, which killed 41 young people in Mirsarai on July 11, will be placed on a three-day remand tomorrow (Saturday).
A Chittagong court granted the remand on Wednesday, said Tapan Bagchi, sub-inspector of Mirsarai Police Station.
Md Jasimuddin alias Mofiz, a farmer-turned-trucker, was arrested at Kawnia in Barisal on July 21. He was later sent to jail.
SI Bagchi said they prayed to the court of senior judicial magistrate of Chittagong to place Mofiz on a five-day remand, but the court granted three days.
Mofiz will be taken into the custody of Mirsarai police for interrogation tomorrow, he added.
Mentionable, 41 young people, most of them school students, died after a truck driven by Mofiz plunged into a ditch in Mirsarai upazila, Chittagong on July 11.
